"This place is a gem. Beautiful views over the mountains and lovely sunsets. The Bothy is very homely with everything you need, I only stayed for two nights but I would like to stay longer! I love the natural materials used in the Bothy and the recycle, reuse thinking! Denise is the perfect host and Smudge was a lovely holiday companion. I will return for another peaceful holiday.

"We miss everything about this cottage including the cat Smudge (who can be coaxed to come and say hello). Denise was ever so kind and generous in all the ways that make you love travelling. All the little extra touches were really appreciated , but in no way expected. We miss the heated floors and the cozy bed, the expansive view. It was the cosiest stay in all of Wales for us. There has been a lot of love put into this house, and you can REALLY feel it. "

Tip:
"The location of this cottage is perfect no matter which direction you choose to drive or walk. We did choose the easier route up a Snowdonia that leaves from the village of Llanberis and we’re happy for that with the high winds. There is good shopping and coffee shops not far in Bangor and great maps at The Bothy to borrow for every type of walk you like. We are great with smallish spaces and had no trouble with steep steps down from the cozy bedroom loft. We loved the kitchen with all the wee extras there. You will be congratulating yourself for finding The Bothy. At least I’ll say we were. It is an exceptionally cool spot! "

"Very well located Bothy with oodles of character and charm.
Not for you if expecting clean lines and all the mod cons but there is everything you need for a relaxing break.
Bathroom and kitchen lovely and clean and are well stocked and equipped with clean towels etc.
We were also very pleasantly surprised that the Wi-Fi was great for a remote location.
Bedroom is quite compact and again charming , beware the low ceiling but marvel at the wonderful restoration and the fantastic wooden joinery work on the beams.
The resident cat, Smudge, is an absolute joy he’ll probably come and introduce himself when you arrive and if you want his company he’ll be more than happy for you to make a fuss of him.

Tip:
"We only had a short stay and again Denise has loads of information for places to eat and visit. We had a meal at the pub in the village, very good pub food and we enjoyed it.
Suggest you book on a weekend as it looks like it gets busy."
